Troels Flensted in his Copenhagen studio handmade and hand finished this unique Black Water Marble Bowl. Flensted is a Danish designer with a passion for innovation and a fascination for new materials and techniques. His work blends cutting edge contemporary technologies and materials with traditional, artisanal attention to detail. Due to Flensted’s production processes, this piece is unique and one of a kind. Troels Flensted founded his experimental design studio in 2015, returning to his native Denmark after studying in London. He begins his design process with rigorous research into materials and techniques. In this way, he develops an intimate understanding of the pieces he creates. Whilst his pieces are often one-offs for gallery exhibition, he also develops some projects further to create accessible design pieces for everyday use. Flensted’s work is often minimalistic, allowing the unique characteristics of the materials to shine through. His approach has won him several awards and grants. It has also secured his participation in numerous prestigious exhibitions. Being both an everyday homeware and fine art object, his work is available in distinguished galleries and design stores worldwide. This marble bowl has a food-safe sealant that will repel water and dirt. However, it is not suitable for oily foods, liquids or dishwasher cleaning. Troels’s pieces are unique due to their artisanal nature as they are entirely made and decorated by hand. For this reason; the piece you receive at home may be dissimilar in some minor aspects from what you see in the picture. At the end of the day, these subtle differences make each one of these products an object with meaning.
