However, in recent decades, Mexico’s fast food culture has grown huge. Because of this, meals have changed dramatically. What was once a soulful, domestic ritual is now a fleeting public event. Moreover, the disposable packaging of modern fast food has replaced the fine ceramics Mexico is famous for. By recreating throw away items in fine, handmade ceramic, Ana’s work raises important questions about the contemporary world.Ana currently focuses on her work and on AG Estudio, a design studio which explores issues through experimenting with ceramics. She also gives lectures about her work, and is a consultant on art, design and ceramics projects.
